My 6 Chicks

I am so excited to write my first blog post...a little side note. I have wanted a blog for a long time! And after reading, and researching here it is finally! Here it is .....My 6 Chicks! Since we added 6 chicks to our crazy life two weeks ago …#my6pack has taken on a whole new meaning. Am I speaking about the kids or the baby hens we now have living in our kitchen. Lets talk about the chicks! We are brand new chicken parents. It took 13 years...yes 13 for my husband to finally agree to this. We sat down one night and had a really nice heart to heart conversation...I want to live on a farm and chickens were a great compromise. He said yes! I have begged and pleaded that I wanted the kids to collect fresh eggs and be able to finally have a pet of their own. My husband has asthma and we cannot have any animals in the house, which means farm animals are perfect because they live outside (another reason I was able to use in my argument for chickens). I wanted chickens to help teach them responsibility and also for the health benefits of eating fresh organic eggs! So, off to the amazing poultry farm we went and an hour later we had 6 chicks who hitched a ride with us home. I'll be introducing them in my next post! (below is a picture of my 6 pack! My big guy is currently in the Army)
